Unseasonal planting

What a strange summer this has been! Either pouring with rain or sweltering hot! Unusually therefore, we decided to plant two of our London gardens in late July and August. This would not normally be something we would do but the ground was in good enough condition for us to be able to do it this year. We show two gardens here, the first is in Wimbledon and the second is in Clerkenwell in Central London.

A mix of mass planting of Hakonechloa macra, a few perennials and some gravel planting

The lawn has not been laid, some of the lights are in place and plenty to plant

Mixed planting around a multi-stem Cornus kousa tree
